I have been playing a long time. Everything you could imagine from Show Tunes to Zappa and can find plenty of work as a pickup player. No more! Without a goal or commitment, it’s missing that “band” thing. I would MUCH prefer a partnership with like musicians instead of “hey, let’s tell this club owner we’re a band, they won’t know if the members keep changing!” So commitment doesn’t frighten me. Also, I have no issue driving an hour+ from my home in Cape Coral if the players are good at their craft and who can have fun with it. Basically, all I need is the set lists and keys and a count off… I can be ready in days. I have gear like mad, 4 and 5 string, fretted and fretless. New Honda Pilot so transportation not an issue. FYI I am retired from the guitar business after 42 years, the last company I worked for was a small guitar guitar company named Fender.
My “thing” would be 60s, The Doobie Brothers, Motown, Stax, Atlantic, Brit Invasion, Beatles, Stones, and most everything from the 60s. I have played and enjoy a lot of the 70s stuff.

I WILL play Brick House and Play That Funky Music but do NOT expect me to smile. I like these about the same as I like Sweet Caroline. BUT, I’ll play ANY music as long as it’s played well and makes sense to the audience!
I sing a little bit but I am #1 a bassist #2 singer #7 backup vocalist. I gotta take up residence in the KICK DRUM cause sometimes it’s about the groove and some songs I can’t leave the pocket to sing, if you catch my drift here?
Here are some audio samples. PLEASE READ the personnel listings to be sure of what it is your hearing. My brother and son are amazing musicians as are many of my music homies. We’ll pick a song, dissect it, and reproduce it via email. I do the studio stuff: production, mixing, and mastering.

I don’t really have much “live video” but I do have something recent from a very cool house party gig I did in Asheville NC a few months back. This Toby Walker fellow has toured all over the planet and is one of, if not, THE Delta Blues guitarist of our time.

There is a short video clip and below are the rest of the songs from the show. I am on the last 4-5 or so.
Thanks for looking,
Todd
Todd McCagg plays Spector and Esopus basses and guitars.

PS
I have extensive song lists of tunes I’ve already played. Might be easier, if you decide to audition me, to just give me the list of tunes you’d like to knock out at a rehearsal/audition.
